Cambridge Rock Festival 2013 posterAttica Rage also release a new double-track single ‘LONG RIDE HOME’ from 88MPH via Off Yer Rocka on Monday 8th July 2013, available to download from iTunes and all major music stores.  The second track is a previously-unreleased live version of ‘ROAD DOG FOREVER’ and a live video will accompany the release.  A promotional video from album producer roddymacaudio, showing the studio recording of ‘Long Ride Home’, will also be posted online.  Both videos will be available to watch on YouTube.

Those two songs together tell two sides of the same story” explains singer Jonny Parr. “Where Road Dog Forever is an all-out celebration of life on the road and devotion to the rock ‘n roll lifestyle, Long Ride Home is the anti-thesis – it’s the harder part of being away from home, missing loved-ones and ultimately dealing with the choices that have been made along the way.”

New album 88MPH was released worldwide with an official launch at Hard Rock Hell VI last year and has been welcomed by fans with positive reviews amongst the rock press.  ‘Long Ride Home’ is the third single to be released from 88MPH – ‘Killer Carousel’ was available as a free download during the album launch and follow-up single ‘Beyond Forever’ was released in March.

More reviews in for 88MPH

We’ve had a run of more excellent reviews come in for new album 88MPH over the last few weeks.  Here are some of the highlight quotes:

Attica Rage 88MPH

There’s something very refreshing about Attica Rage. They just get on and play quality hard rock with no pretensions, no window dressing, just good music.

Powerplay Magazine – full review in the March 2013 issue, on sale now

88MPH is an album that deserves to launch Attica Rage into the wider metal conscience, while still satisfying those of us who have been decades loyal to all things denim and leather

Fireworks Magazine – full review in the March 2013 issue, on sale now

This is highly polished, milled-leather biker rock…an impressive and consummate album. It will dazzle all those who love classic metal. Attica Rage are really beginning to show that they are true masters of rock. 8/10“

RAMzine – full, detailed review here

Each track is a classic, not one single filler, just bone crushing motorbike metal with ample amounts of squealing guitar solos and a drum line that bangs harder than a teenage couples headboard.”

The Black Flag – full review here

…there’s an undeniable passion at play here. It’s sheer classic rock worship….Moments like these can make 88MPH well worth the trip“

New Interviews & Reviews

Top-rated reviews have started appearing online and in print for new album 88MPH as well as live reviews & interviews from Hard Rock Hell VI, so we thought we’d compile them here.

ATTICA RAGE @ HARD ROCK HELL VI, Wales Dec 2012

Metal Hammer magazine Feb 2013Metal Hammer magazine’s review of Hard Rock Hell VI gave a 9/10 rating for Attica’s set along with a pic of Jonny in mid-yell (the only bands of the whole weekend to score 9 or higher were Attica Rage, Testament, Dr Feelgood, Gaskin & Chasar!)  “Playing meaty, mighty biker metal with scantily clad dancers breathing fire and blowing sparks, the burly Scotsmen dig out ferocious AC/DC & Motorhead covers to guarantee a euphoric reception, even at 3am.“  Read the full review in the current issue (#240 Feb 2013), on sale now.

MetalkTalk.net commented similarly in their festival review. The band had chatted to Daryl from MetalTalk earlier in the day – click here to listen to the interview on MetalTalk.net

Stevie Bell and Colin Wilson also chatted to GetYourRockOut at Hard Rock Hell – click here to watch the interview on YouTube

88MPH Album Reviews

Sunday Sport Attica Rage album reviewAn unexpected but overwhelmingly positive album review was published in the Sunday Sport a few weeks back.  Who’d have thought Attica Rage would ever be featured in this national UK institution of a Sunday paper?!!  No nudy boobies on display from the boys though, you’ll be glad to hear….just a cracking 4* review from Carl Evans:  “88MPH is red-blooded, hard n’ heavy rock with a full beard…If this was 1990, Attica Rage would be playing your local football stadium next week and providing the soundtrack to the latest Arnie blockbuster. But this is 2013 and bands don’t make REAL hard rock albums anymore, do they? The answer is YES! Attica Rage do! Buy it. Crank your stereo all the way f**king up and enjoy!”  Click the image above to read the full review.

“88MPH certainly lives up to it’s title, a full throttle, law breaking, fuel burning, tyre screeching bat out of Hell if ever there was. The Attica Rage sound and ethic has always been one of no compromise, no bullshit, honest Rock N Roll, and although the band continue to develop and evolve in terms of writing and delivery, that core feature remains, which is surely to be applauded in today’s fickle, fad driven market ….one of the years best Hard Rock/Metal albums. A definite ’must have’ in my book.”  PlanetMosh (9/10) – read the full review here

“88MPH smacks of good times, hard-hitting biker rock which will thrill you, amaze you and batter your senses! ….a pretty damn phenomenal piece of work and a progression in the right direction” The Mayfair MallZine – read the full review here

“(88MPH) is an open and honest hard rock album with no frills or padding but with a huge heart created by four guys that live, sleep, eat and breath Attica Rage…. Gutsy hard rock at its best. 4.5 / 5″  GetReadyToRock – read the full review here

“Attica Rage once again prove they still have what it takes to hang with the big boys…a hell of an album that’s on par if not better than Road Dog and is one of my favourite albums of the year.”  RockFusion – read the full review here

“88MPH is the continuation of a remarkable course and an exceptional, really tight ensemble of ten songs….Good melodies, choruses that you stick with, guitar volume (and production volume); it’s basically a pure metal album without pointing at any of the classic bands of the past.”  RockPages.gr (Greece) – read the full review here

DVD-Display_RoadDogForeverFinally, the first review in for the new Attica Rage live concert & documentary film: “(Road Dog Forever DVD) represents an excellent opportunity to acquaint yourself with one of the hardest working and most fan friendly bands on the circuit at the moment. A release that gives an intriguing and in-depth view of a band laid bare before the camera, warts and all. Highly recommended.” PlanetMosh – read the full review here
